About Us
Kia ora koutou, ko Sandra Durston tōku ingoa. I’m based here in Rangitīkei and my mahi is all about supporting people through challenging times — whether that’s through justice processes, family relationships, or protecting their financial wellbeing.
I work as a Restorative Justice facilitator, mainly in family violence cases, where I hold space for people to have courageous conversations, restore mana, and find a pathway forward. I also work as a Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) mediator, helping parents and whānau resolve care and contact matters outside of court. My approach is grounded in manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and deep listening — creating safe and culturally respectful spaces for resolution.
Alongside this, I’m a registered financial adviser, specialising in personal risk protection — life, health, trauma, and income cover. I help whānau, business owners, and individuals make informed choices that protect what matters most. With nearly 20 years in banking, insurance, and coaching, I bring practical knowledge and a people-first approach to my work.
My practice is shaped by te ao Māori values and I’m committed to ongoing learning, particularly around supporting Māori whānau in mediation and restorative processes. I’m currently mentored in this space and am open to collaborations that uplift our people and strengthen community wellbeing.
Outside of mahi, I find balance through te taiao — spending time with my many animals, gardening, and practicing yoga. These connections keep me grounded and well, so I can show up fully for those I work with.
I’m excited to be part of this rōpū, to build whanaungatanga, and to support each other’s kaupapa. If my skills can awhi you, your whānau, or your clients — whether it’s around resolving disputes, navigating justice processes, or securing financial protection — I’m always open to kōrero.
